Cliston V. “Doc” Bodine, III. Mr. Bodine’s practice places special emphasis on bank mergers and acquisitions, bank holding company formations, bank regulatory matters (including problem banks, memoranda of understanding, cease and desist matters and compliance issues), general corporate law and corporate taxation.

Prior to joining Gerrish McCreary Smith, PC, Mr. Bodine spent four years in a defense litigation practice in western Tennessee. Mr. Bodine is admitted to practice before all Tennessee state courts and the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Tennessee.

Mr. Bodine graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia in 2000, with a Masters of Accounting concentrating in taxation from the J.M. Tull School of Accounting at the University of Georgia in 2001, and cum laude with a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Georgia School of Law in 2004.
